on the spot

Mocjenbirdspotlight769 hi there! it's time for another a-muse-a-palooza challenge over on the a muse news blog! this week's challenge is called *spot*! another fun one that is super open to interpretation! i am so looking forward to see what is created! here is the first card that i made for this challenge...i used the spotlight technique! :) this a technique i haven't done in forever but it is really easy and fun! there is a great tutorial over on splitcoast for it if you are interested. i hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge this week!Mocjenloveeddie769

this next card i made for my husband! i was still stuck on last week's *twilight* challenge, and i was thinking about a post missy had a while back about stamping on these little wood pieces. so i whipped some out and gave it a try! you can get a bag of them at michael's for only a couple of dollars and i think they are pretty cute and fun to use! lots of possibilities! i stamped right onto it and colored it with copics and a white signo gel pen (had to make eddie's face white!!). i gave this to my dh and he got a big kick out of it. he definitely doesn't share my twilight obsession, but he is very nice about it, lol!!

Mocjenfunnestcupcakes759 and this last card i made for this week's cas challenge over on splitcoast, to make cas birthday cards. i basically just got out all of my favorite stuff and put it on this card! the colors, the cupcakes, the sentiment, a metal rimmed tag, the paper piecing, the gingham paper, and it was done! :) i hope you are having a great day! thanks for visiting! :)

he was here! :)

Eddie so i was walking through the grocery store the other day, and i glance over to the slot section (yes, we have slot machines in the grocery stores here!) and look who i saw there!! it's eddie!! i know he's been globe trotting because i've been keeping up with his adventures over on the a muse news blog, but i was just thrilled to see him in my hood! who knew he was a gambler? lol!! :) if you see him, make sure you post about it on your blog and link the picture to the a muse news blog! that dude really gets around! :) sorry for the poor picture quality too..the lighting in there was not so good!

here's a quick card for a friend using an a muse stamp that i absolutely *love*, mb girl bear. i put some sparkle on her so she works for this week's cas challenge on splitcoast. i hope you are having a great day! thanks for visiting! :)

i'm back! :)

Twilight did you miss me? :) we went on a vacation to northern california and had a great time! we lived in the bay area before we moved to las vegas, my husband and i actually met there, got married there and had our first 2 kids there. we haven't been back in a long time so it was a blast to do all of the tourist-y type things with the kids. we also got to see a lot of family, and we ate lots of great food! and guess who i got to meet while i was there? tracy!! she was teaching a class and my mil actually sells crafts at the store that tracy teaches at, so we were able to swing by during her class! it was *so* fun meeting her! :) the whole trip was just wonderful!

i am happy to be back though...i missed my stamps, lol! today there is a new a-muse-a-palooza challenge over on the a muse news blog! the challenge this week is *twilight*. you can do a lot of things with that but of course i had to go with the book series twilight since i love it so much! so here is the card i made...i dusted off my martha stewart drippy goo border punch and *eddie* has some fun checkered (paper pieced) pants on! :)Kids2

and here's a little picture of my kidlets at pier 39 with alcatraz in the back. it was a little windy! :) there is a thread on the lounge about scrapbooking with stamps and it has really inspired me. now that i've got all of these fun vacation pictures to play with, i hope that i will be back soon with some fun *scrappy* creations to show you! :) hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting! :)

lazy summer days

Dadcard

hi there!! just checking in with a few cards i made recently while enjoying summertime!! :) i made this first one for my dad for father's day, and it goes along with this month's a muse lounge challenge for masculine cards. seriously *loving* the gingham paper! :)

the second card is yet another card i made while admiring the colors of the a muse lounge! heather *re-decorates* the lounge each month and it always looks amazing! last month's orange, yellow and blue color combo was my favorite of all time and it inspired me to create a few cards with those colors! this is one of them, here is another, and i will be posting the third one on monday. i think there will be more in my future too, lol!! i hope you are enjoying the lazy days of summer!! :) thanks for visiting! :) Yellowsub

time for fun!

Squaresub

hi there!! i am *so* excited because today the first a-muse-a-palooza challenge was posted over on the a muse news blog!! woo hoo!! here is a card i made for it! the challenge is *square*. such a fun challenge because it is totally open to interpretation! i went with a square notecard and a square panel on it! can you believe this is the first time i have ever used this adorable sub?? i love it! i paper pieced the sub, and i used diamond glaze on the window and portholes. i hope you get a chance to play along with this fun challenge, it goes until midnight on 6/21, and there are *prizes* too!! yay! you can find out all of the details on the challenge here and all of the details on a-muse-a-palooza right here!

Margaritas this next card i made for this week's clean and simple challenge over on splitcoast. it was a sketch challenge, with a big front panel. totally my type of sketch! it actually works for the *square* a-muse-a-palooza challenge too! i paper pieced 2 of the magaritas and used diamond glaze on them, and then added stickles for the salt on the rest of them. i made this card for my sister, i know she will get a kick out of it! :) i have been having an absolute blast stamping lately!! i just love summer! :)

oh, one more thing...how 'bout them lakers?? wooo hooo!! :) thanks for visiting!! :)

happy summer!

Summerolc

hi there!! happy summer! my kids had their last day of school on thursday so we are on summer break, yay!! i am one of those moms that *loves* summer! i love having all of the kids home and having us all together. we stay up late, sleep in, swim in the pool, play all day with no schedule...it is so much fun! :) this week has been busy but i have found a few minutes here and there to stamp! first, the limited supply challenge over on splitcoast was to make a one layer summer card. since i am challenging myself to use more white space, i thought i'd play along! this is the card i made. nothing says summer to me like this flower drinks stamp. this was one of my first a muse stamps and i still love it! i paper pieced the drinks and used some diamond glaze on them, and then added some a muse twinkle stickers. i had so much fun making it, i decided to make a few more to have on hand. i made the others the same except i added an extra layer. i really like how they turned out! :)Singlecard

then i made a card for the new a muse lounge challenge that will be posted on june 7th. i paper pieced the recliner with some new gingham paper, did some distressing and used the new ready, set, recline sentiment. one of my favorite things to do when i get new a muse stamps and sentiments is to match them up with my older a muse stamps and sentiments. so many possibilities!! :) this card will be sent to my grandfather for father's day! i hope you are having a great day! thanks for visiting! :)

Readysetsupplies: flower drinks, happy summer, twinkle stickers, white 4 bar notecard, cabana blue notecards, ink, all from a muse, diamond glaze, marvy scalloped oval punch, pop dots, copic markers

recliner, ready set sentiment, essential ovals clear set, french roast notecard, brown gingham paper, all from a muse, distressing tool, sanding block, pop dots

some white space

Fivecupcakes

hi there!! happy june! can you believe it is june already? i sure can't! we are in the middle of our family birthday season over here, all 5 of us have our birthdays from the end of may to the end of june. it is crazy but lots of fun! :) today i played along with this week's cas (clean and simple) challenge over on splitcoast and these are the cards i made for it. the challenge was to be inspired by land's end totes and beach towels. i was inspired by this design, and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to have some white space on my cards, which is something i love the look of but kind of struggle with. these are the cards i made, inspired by the pink coral bag and the autumn orange bag. the cards are both pretty simple. i used some of a muse's twinkle stickers as the cherry on the cupcakes, and i distressed the orange card with a sanding block and a distresser. they were both pretty fun to make! i'm definitely going to make more *white space* cards! :)

Wishyouwerehere other totally random things i feel like sharing:

*the moczan house is *thrilled* to see the lakers in the the nba finals!! wooo hooo!! we were hoping for a kobe/lebron match up but that didn't happen. that's ok though because we love the lakers and we can't wait to see them tangle with the magic! :)

*i just discovered broccolini and i *love* it! i am not a foodie at all so i am probably the last person on the planet to know what it is but yum! i had some at a restaurant on friday and i ate every last bite, it was so good! plus, we are constantly trying to get the kids to eat broccoli and they hate it so i gave them broccolini last night for the first time and 2 of them asked for seconds!! what?!?! i am not sure that one of my kids has ever asked for seconds of any vegetable besides baby carrots! :)

*and last but not least, did you see the new moon trailer? be still my beating heart! it looks *awesome*!! i can't believe we have to wait almost 6 months to see it!!

i hope you are having a great week and thanks for visiting!! :)
