hi there! today i have a card for 2 fun challenges! i made this card for paper smooches new sparks challenge, and for this week's one layer wednesday challenge. the sparks challenge is to create a card using one of the july color combos or one of the july designer draft sketches, and the one layer challenge is to *make it personal*, create a card for someone by adding touches especially for them. for the sparks challenge, i went with the middle card sketch in the grid below, the one with the scalloped line across the center. since i seem to have the ocean on my mind, looking at that, of course i saw waves! as i was deciding what stamps to use, i decided that this was going to be for my daughter, so i made the fishes mostly pink (her favorite color), i added a little heart gem in between the gill and friend because she loves hearts, and i added some stickles on the fish because she loves a little sparkle. :) my daughter just turned six and she is my little stamping buddy, she has her own table set up in my craft room, and i let her use all of my stamps, inks and punches. we have a blast together! i can't wait to give this to her! for the card, i punched a scalloped edge on a scrap piece of paper, and then used it as a mask and sponged along the bottom edge to create the water line. all of the stamps are from paper smooches surf and turf set (love it!), except the sand stamp i used on the bottom, that is from an old su set, shore thing. i stamped the sand stamp in a dark brown and then sponged a little with a lighter brown. i only used one fish stamp, i just flipped it over so it was facing the other direction. :) and here is a picture of my little cutie....at the beach of course! :) i hope you are having a wonderful day! thanks for visiting! :)
