i really wanted to post some crafty creations today but we've been a little busy over here, playing in this!! it has been snowing for almost 6 hours and it is still coming down!! we don't get a lot of snow here so it is really a big deal and we are having a blast!! my other kids are at school, it is wrong to want to go pick them up so they can join in the fun?? lol!! :) i will be back tomorrow with some craftiness!! :) thanks for visiting!! :)
hey there! happy weekend and happy summer! friday was officially the first day of summer, woo hoo! :) i love just love the lazy days of summer!! :) here are some cards i made with the little penguins from imaginisce, they are so darn cute! i had stamped a bunch of them, and then when i was sitting outside one day watching the kids swim i colored them in, and later i made them into a bunch of cards in different layouts. here are 2 of them. can i tell you that i *love* the new 8.5x11 paper from a muse? i just love it! and this new kitchen orange one is awesome! i hope you are enjoying your weekend! thanks for visiting! :)

hello! i don't have anything craft related to share today, but i do have a fun story to share with you! some of you might know that i *love* me some gavin degraw! i have been telling my dh for a while that i would really, really like to see him live, and i have been watching for concerts in our area. well, a few weeks ago i found out that he was going to do some shows in ca, and even one at a really small venue by my mom's house in orange county!! so of course, we had to go!! it was perfect, my mom could watch the kidlets while my dh and i went. so we took a trip to ca and we saw gavin on sunday night! it was ***amazing***!!!! even my dh, who isn't a huge music fan, said it was an unbelievable show. we were lucky enough to get seats really really close to the stage, we were about 2 feet from him! it was a really small place (only about 300 people) so it was really cool anyway but to be so close was awesome! the only bad thing was that they said you couldn't take pictures and if anyone did, they would confiscate your camera or phone. so me being the good girl that i am, i didn't take any. well, at the end of the show, the lights came up and everyone was cheering and he was shaking people's hands and stuff and everyone started taking pictures!! so i grabbed my camera really fast but by the time i took one, he was walking towards the other side of the stage! total bummer! that was the only bad thing about the night, everything else was perfect. i even saw hot uncle cooper from one tree hill there!! :) his seats weren't as good as ours though, lol!! :) so this is the one and only picture i got, and it isn't too good but i still love it! :) if you ever get the chance to go see him live, you've gotta do it! and for all of you locals, he is actually going to be here in april so if you get a chance, you should go!! if you want to get an idea of what seeing gavin live is like, watch this. and if you got through this whole post, give yourself a hand!! thanks for reading me gush, lol!! :) i will be back with something crafty tomorrow. thanks for visiting! :)
remember the a muse addict admirer program i told you about in december where you get to send cards and gifts to someone without them knowing who you are and someone sends them to you and then you reveal who you are and it is lots of fun? well i signed up again and this time we are doing a valentine's version and i just got my package!! seriously, after opening the package, i was speechless!! (and if you know me, that is something i *never* am!!) i had to take a picture of all of this goodness to show you!! there is all kinds of cool chipboard in tons of awesome shapes, 2 packages of clear stamps, valentines brads, super cute felt and silk flowers, 3 rolls of beautiful ribbon, a package of fun felt embellishments (in a tin i will alter!!), some super cute big brads (love those!!), a huge bag of peanut m&ms (my favorite!), a cute little nailpolish bottle filled with brads, an adorable altered mailbox with the mb girl bear on it that will now sit on my desk, fabulous monogrammed notecards in my favorite color, and if all of that isn't enough.....a starbucks card too!! wow!! i am still speechless looking at all of it!! thank you SOOO much to my a muse admirer!!! i am absolutely blown away by your generosity! i love every single thing that you sent!! i can't say thank you enough....thank you!! now i am off to go play with all of this awesome stuff!! thanks for visiting!! :)
today was the last day of the regular season and the bears won again, the second week in a row! it *almost* makes up for the fact that they aren't going to the playoffs. not really but it does make me happy that they ended strong. i get a little bummed at the end of the football season, my husband and i enjoy it so much, it is a bummer to see it end. with the playoffs starting next weekend, it just reminds me that the end of the season is near!! speaking of my husband, he won our fantasy football league again! yay! we play in a league with my dad, 2 of my brothers and some of our friends. we have been playing in the same league for i think 6 years and my DH has won every year except one...the year i won, lol!! :) he is awesome at it, and it drives my dad and brothers nuts! i didn't get to do any stamping at all today, i have a raging cold and i spent most of the day curled up on the couch watching football. however, i did get to target before the games this morning and i scored!! i got some mailboxes! do you remember the mailbox madness of 2007? well, the madness is starting all over in 2008! :) last year at this time target put these cute mailboxes out in their dollar spot and people went crazy for them, including me. i cleaned out my local target, and had my mom in ca clean out hers too! they are *so* fun and easy to decorate, they make super cute little gifts filled with candy or notecards and they are only $1! love 'em! so they are back at target this year and now they come in red, white or pink! last year it was just red or white. these are 2 that i made last year, the top one was for my dd and the bottom one was for me. my boys wanted to have family mail so i made one for each member of our family and we put little pieces of mail in each other's boxes. it was really fun. so i scored getting those today! and i also scored yesterday at the scrapbooking store that i work at, i got the bind-it-all! they were having a great sale so i got an awesome deal on it!! woo hoo!! :) i can't wait to start making some things with it. well...this was a very long and random post! lol! if you are still reading this, wow! :) thanks for visiting! :)
are you all buried with holiday preparations? i am!! it is all fun but it is *so* busy! my mil is visiting right now and we are having lots of fun. we had our christmas with her last night and i thought i'd share what i made for her. it is a clear album. it is about 8.5 x 5 and made from clear sheets of acrylic. i stamped them with white stazon and small flourishes from the su set priceless. i don't think you can really get the full effect from this picture because it is see through and really hard to get a picture of. i matted one 4x6 picture on the front and back of each page so you can see through the sides of the album. it looks cool IRL! :) i punched one hole on the side of each page with my crop-a-dile and then used a big office supply ring to keep them all together. i made one page for each month of 2007, and the cover is a picture of our name written in the sand at the beach. i saw that done in a scrapbooking magazine a long time ago so now each time we go to the beach i write a message in the sand and take a picture of it. it makes for cute pages and you can even use them as journaling, like i did here!
both nancy and debbie asked me on my last post how i take pictures of my cards so i thought i'd share. i used to scan them and i didn't like how they got squished if the card wasn't completely flat so i started taking pictures of them with my camera instead. i sit the card on white paper in my scrapbooking room underneath 2 OTT lights. i put a paper behind and underneath the card so that the background is plain. i don't use a flash and i don't zoom in, i take it from a few steps back. then i upload my pictures and crop them using my photo editing system. it is adobe but it is an old version, not one of the new ones. i crop the photo pretty closely, and add my name to the bottom and that is it! i am certainly *not* an expert on this at all, i have just read online how others do this and i have adapted it to work for me. i hope you are having a great day! thanks for visiting! :)
check this out!! i got an *awesome* package in the mail and it is tons of goodies from my a muse admirer!! yay!! i love it all! there is super cute decorated candy, adorable tags, a package of ornaments for me to make, an amazing little pillow ornament, a fabulous card and even the a muse stamp how ya bean!!! too cool!! my admirer knows i love coffee so that stamp is just perfect for me, but she doesn't know that i *love* retro stuff so i flipped when i saw this! that pillow ornament is just the cutest thing ever! i love it! and that red tag (pictured on the left) is so sweet, i am going to use it as an embellishment on a scrapbook page so i can save it forever! :) thank you so much to whoever you are!! :) i am so lucky to have such a wonderful admirer that would share so many amazing things that she created! wow! hope you had a great day and i will be back tomorrow with my first sneak peek!

happy sunday!! it is football day again! so fun! i wanted to share a couple things with you today. the first one i am so excited about! in the summer i bought this cute rolodex from pottery barn. i wanted to find a fun way to store our addresses. i decided to dress it up just a little and i stamped the cards with the flourish from su's priceless set in wild wasabi, and i added some ribbon tabs using su's wild wasabi double stitched grosgrain. since then i have participated in lots of taylor's atc swaps and i have kept the atcs in a bag, not knowing what to do with them. i was at my store the other day and saw this! whoa!! it is almost exactly the same! so i ran home and put all of my atcs in here! i attached all of the atcs to the cards and they stick out and look really cute, i think. i can look at them all easily and even better, every time i go to get an address, i see different ones and become inspired! :) the next picture is of some bracelets that i made for my craft fair in november. they are also made by 7 gypsies and i got mine from starlitstudio. i think they turn out really cute and they are so easy to make. they are a great gift! i would love to make one for my mom and my mil with little pictures of my kids in each circle. the possibilites are endless! :) i hope you all have a fun sunday!! i will be back tomorrow with the last card from my club and my first blog candy giveaway too!! i am so excited! thanks for visiting! :)
