hi there! so this afternoon, i got my mail and my new paper smooches warm hearts set was in there. yay! i immediately opened the package, walked right into my craft room and made this card! i just couldn't resist the cuteness of this set (and this cute little to go coffee cup!)! i used the colors from this week's paper smooches sparks cool shade color challenge, and the fun sentiment is from the hot concoctions set. click on the colors below to head over to the challenge. i hope you are having a fabulous day, and thanks for visiting! :)

cool and casual

hi there! i saw some super fun challenges out there and i had to play along! this first card is for my favorite challenge, the paper smooches sparks challenge! the inspiration picture (below) is completely awesome, and right up my alley. light blue and white and very clean. love it! since i am a member of the paper smooches club, i get the new sets each month before they are even released (how cool is that?!?!), and i decided to use a new one for this challenge. this set could not be any cuter!!! it is called chilly chums and it will be available on 10/1. crazy cuteness! it is filled with adorable little winter animals, all kinds of fun accessories to dress them up and sweet little sentiments like this one. this little seal is my favorite image so i used her for this card, and i dressed her up with a scarf and a bow. i was inspired by the cool colors of the inspiration picture, along with the roundness and the glass, hence the snowglobe. :) i think i see lots of chilly chums snowglobes in my future. :) click on the inspiration picture to head over to the sparks challenge site.

this next one is completely different, and i made it for this week's cas-ual friday challenge. it is a fun one too! the challenge is to *toot your own horn* by creating a card based on your blog banner. wow is that easy for me, lol! my blog banner is a picture of disneyland so i went with a disney-themed card. as i have mentioned a million times, we *love* us some disneyland. we go all the time, (in fact we are going sunday!) and it truly is the happiest place on earth for us. :) they put up their fall decorations a couple weeks ago, so i went with a fall disney theme. i used a small mickey ears punch with a lot of different patterned paper and a paper smooches sentiment. i can't wait to send it to one of my disney-loving friends. :) click on the cas-ual friday badge below to head over to the challenge site. i hope you are having a fabulous friday! thanks so much for visiting today! :)

more paper smooches fun!

hi there! it is my last week as the guest designer over at the paper smooches blog! i can't even say how honored i was to be the guest designer this month. kim is such a sweetheart and honestly, i just love playing with paper smooches stamps so much! :) so here are the last 2 cards i made. this first one uses the balloons and happy face from the hullabaloo set, and the have a nice day is from the wake up set. i have discovered that i really enjoy making cards that have smiley faces on them, lol! the second card uses the autumn groves set. i paper pieced the pumpkins, and i cut the sentiment stamp so that i could stamp the words side by side. i hope you are having a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting! :)

hi there! i've got a card to share that i made for 2 current challenges. the first one is one of my favorites, the paper smooches sparks challenge. this week is a cool shades color challenge. the second challenge is called casology, which i have never played along with before. it is a cas challenge, so it is right up my alley! the challenge was *white*, and since most of my cards have a lot of white on them, i thought this would be a fun one! :) click on the badges below to visit each of these challenges. i used the wake up paper smooches set. can i tell you that this is one of my very favorite sets of all time? it is *so* darn cute! i added faces to all of the little breakfast items, and i used a clear dome sticker on the egg yolk. :) very cas, but hopefully cute too! i hope you are having a nice day! thanks for visiting! :)

birthday paper smooches

hi there! just checking in to share the cards i made for my guest designer post on the paper smooches blog this week. both of these cards are made with the new hullabaloo set. these cards and clean and simple, just the way i like them! :) on the first one, i colored with copics and then used the colorless blender to make stripes on the candles, and added crystal effects to the flames. the second one i paper pieced on a metal rimmed tag, and used more crystal effects on the cherry. just a quick post today, i hope you are having a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting! :)

 

some paper smooches

hi there! i am sharing a couple cards i made that are on the paper smooches blog today for my guest designer spot. this first one uses a sentiment from the new jive turkey set, and a leaf image from the autumn groves set. very clean and simple, i just paper pieced all of the leaves with some fall-ish colors. i think this would make a nice thanksgiving card. :)

speaking of thanksgiving, here is another card i made using the jive turkey set. kim's images and fonts are so darn cute! i couldn't resist making a little turkey leg card! the card is a light mocha color and the turkey legs are paper pieced with some dark brown paper that i embossed with a woodgrain pattern (it's kind of hard to see). i hope you like these cards, i sure had a blast creating them! :) thanks for visiting! :)

teacher time - day six!

hi there! today is the last day of teacher time with geeta and i. today our theme is die cuts. geeta posted the cutest little notes on wednesday, and they really inspired me. i decided to create some little teacher notes like hers. i used my spiral notebook page die from papertrey ink to create little notecards. to make the notes, i folded a little piece of cardstock, and then die cut it, making sure the die is hanging over the edge a little, so instead of cutting it completely out, it made a little notecard. i made a set using the apple from the paper smooches falling for you set and many thanks from word salad, and then i used a little binder clip to clip all of the cards together. so many possibilities with these, you could make any type of little notes!

after making the teacher set, i was thinking that these little cards would work well as lunch box love notes. i love writing little notes and sticking them in my kids' lunches. i try to make a bunch whenever i can to have on hand, so i used this opportunity to make up a couple for my kids too. :) here are a couple i made plus one of the teacher ones.

teacher time day five - paper smooches day! :)

hi there! today is a big day! besides being day five of teacher time, today is my first day as a guest designer for paper smooches! ahhhh! *so* exciting! i feel so happy and honored to be the guest designer this month. paper smooches are my favorite so i am just thrilled! :) on top of all that, today is the start of the nfl season!!! could today get any better? :)

so let's start with today's teacher gift. geeta and i are sharing the teacher gifts we are making for the new school year, here is day one, day two, day three and day four. today's theme is paper smooches stamps. :)

a while back i saw this project on heather's blog, she used pre-made notecards and personalized them. i loved this idea, and decided to give it a try while i was making teacher gifts this year. i found the same cute woodgrain notecards at target (aka my favorite store!), it was a package of 24 notecards and envelopes for about $6 so the price was really reasonable, plus it came in this really sturdy box tied with twill that you could also use to give them in once they are personalized. i used the pencil from the smarty pants set, and i paper pieced it using one of the notecards. since it came with so many notecards, you could actually divide them up into 2 sets. i have to say, this is my favorite teacher gift that i have made this year. i just love the colors and the simplicity of it. i hope you like it too. :)

and here are the 2 cards i created with the new great chemistry set that are on the paper smooches blog today. i kept them both clean and simple. on the first one, i used the dots from the teen routine set as a shelf for the beakers, and i used *lots* of crystal effects on them. this set is so fun! :) 

on this one, all stamps are from the great chemistry set, except the little notebook paper stamp, which is from the smarty pants set. :)

hi there! i have been creating teacher gifts non-stop, so i took a break to play along with the new paper smooches sparks challenge. i love this week's challenge, it is *retro fab*! so fun! there are a bunch of retro fab paper smooches stamps, and i decided to go with this cute image from the pretty momma set. i was imagining that it is a retro apron, so i paper pieced it with a flowery orange patterned paper. i think this color scheme is kind of retro too, orange and brown. i added some little brown pearls to the apron to give it a little something, and i used this sweet little sentiment from the word salad set. i think it turned out kinda cute, i hope you like it too! :) click on the retro image to head over to the paper smooches sparks challenge. see you tomorrow with more teacher time gifts! thanks for visiting! :)

teacher time - day four!

hi there! happy labor day to you if you live in the us!! i hope you are having a great one! :) today is day four of teacher time with geeta and i, we are sharing lots of teacher gifts for 2 weeks. you can see day one here, day two here, and day three here. each day we have a theme, and today's theme is 3x3 cards. maybe a teacher might need to send a little note home or a little note of encouragement, and 3x3 cards really fit the bill for that! here are a couple sets i created. i was in a craft fair last december and i sold a bunch of 3x3 gift cards, so i ordered these little 3x3 plastic boxes to sell them in. i have some left over so this worked well as a little container to give the cards in. i put 10 mini cards and envelopes in each one. for this set of cards i used the paper smooches set smarty pants. the circle is popped up off the card and i put crystal effects on the apple. this also works for the cas-ual friday school theme challenge again, so i am linking up to that too! :) 

the second set could work for a teacher too, or anyone really. the big thanks and the so much are from the paper smooches set chit chat. i seem to be on a rainbow kick lately! :)
