it's time for teacher time! my good friend geeta and i *love* making teacher gifts and each year we like to get together and share the gifts we make on our blogs, and call it teacher time. this year we are doing teacher time a little different, we are spreading the gifts out over 2 weeks, and we will be posting them on monday, wednesday and friday for the next 2 weeks. we have been busy making our gifts and i can't wait to share mine and see what geeta has created! :) i hope you will join us for the next 2 weeks and i hope you enjoy the gifts we will be sharing!
for our first day, we are doing gifts with gift cards. gift cards make great teacher gifts of course, and it is fun to try to do something cute with them to jazz them up a little. here is the gift i created, i will be giving it to one of my kids' teachers for a back to school gift. i bought one of the clear plastic reusable starbucks cups at my starbucks to house the gift card that i am giving. i love these cups and use mine all the time, so i hope a teacher would love it too. there are a few different size cups to choose from, i went with a smaller size that cost about $7. i created a tag to attach to the straw, and then added a gift card inside the cup.
here is a close up of the cup, i printed the sentiment on the computer using a kim hughes font, and it says *this year is going to be a latte fun*. you could create any sentiment with latte in it for any occasion you were giving the gift for.
i got a cardboard coffee sleeve from starbucks and cut it up to use on this gift as well. i paper pieced the corrugated side on the coffee cup, and then used some more of it as a gift card holder. i used a stampin' up slit punch to punch the little tabs, and also a corner rounder to round the corners of the cardboard.
i hope you liked my first teacher gift! be sure to go check out geeta's blog and see what she has in store for you today. i will be back on wednesday with my next gift. thanks for visiting! :)
supplies used: cup, cardboard cup holder and gift card from starbucks, coffee cup stamp from paper smooches hot concoctions set, slit punch from stampin' up, circle tag die from pti, font from kim hughes, paper and ribbon from a muse art stamps
What a simply delicious and perfect gift for the teachers!
